Saved from drowning but still needs YOUR help

Thanks to the quick action of two heroes, two-year-old Nemo was rescued from the middle of White Rock Lake in Dallas, Texas. He had entered the water and tried to swim across the lake! He could have swam at least half a mile before his rescuers were able to reach him by boat, who state that he was barely keeping his head above water.

Nemo is safe and available for adoption at East Lake Pet Orphanage. Unfortunately, he has been diagnosed with Heartworm Disease - a life-threatening disease that can easily be prevented with monthly preventive aids.

In Nemo's case, he can be eligible for Heartworm Treatment once he is back to good health, but this treatment is painful and hard on pets. While he is undergoing treatment, he can't be very active or raise his heart rate because the dangers could be fatal. Treatment takes 3 months with a follow-up check 6 months after treatment has completed.

For his medical care and Heartworm Treatment, estimates are at $2,000.00 to give him the second chance that he deserves.

[Update] 06/07/18: Thank you to our supporters on Facebook for raising nearly $1,000 for Nemo! See his fundraising post on our Facebook Page.
